Orchestra Group Classes

Introduction to Orchestra:
This class is perfect for the first-time beginner to violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Students will learn the basic techniques such as how to properly hold the instrument and bow, understanding basic bowing concepts, learning notes and fingering charts, as well as essential skills like tightening bow, applying rosin, and tuning. 

Duration: 2-3 Months
Prerequisites: None

Beginning Orchestra:
This class is intended for kids interested in learning either violin, viola, cello, or double bass that have obtained entry level skills accomplished in our Introduction to Orchestra Class or by another class. In these classes your student will learn music theory and site reading.  This program uses Essential Elements Interactive (EEI) that students can use at home, and class will teach concepts reinforced by EEI. Private pull-out sessions will be used occasionally to provide individualized tutoring. 

Duration: 2-3 Months
Prerequisites: Introduction to Orchestra

Intermediate Orchestra:
This class is for experienced students who can show a small set of skills in music theory application. In this class students will focus on gaining more experience with complex rhythms and harder melodies. Students will expand on techniques, music theory, and site reading abilities introduced in the beginning class. In addition, students will continue with Essential Elements Interactive, and instructors will provide private, pull-out sessions on occasion for individualized tutoring.

Duration: Continues year round
