Beginning Afterschool Orchestra (Tues/Thurs 5-6p)
Do you have a child who loves music and wants to learn how to play an instrument? If so, you might be interested in our string classes, where kids can choose to learn the violin, viola, cello, or double bass. These classes are designed for beginners who have little or no experience with music.
In these classes, kids will learn how to start playing the instrument of their choice, with the guidance of our friendly and qualified teachers. They will learn how to hold the instrument and the bow, how to tune it, and how to produce a good sound. They will also learn how to read music notation, the basics of music theory, rhythm, and articulation (how to move the bow to create different effects).
The classes are fun and interactive, with a lot of games and activities to keep the kids engaged and motivated. The kids will learn how to play confidently and well both as a group and individually, and how to perform together as an ensemble. They will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills in concerts and recitals throughout the year.
Our string classes are open to kids aged 6 to 17, and they run for one hour multiple days per week. The classes are small, with a maximum of 10 students per class, to ensure that each child gets enough attention and feedback from the teacher. The classes are also affordable, with a reasonable fee that includes the rental of the instrument and the music books.
