This class is an excellent introduction to Beginning Level Orchestra. Students may choose to play violin, viola, cello or double bass, and will learn to read music, as well as begin to understand the basics of music theory in regard to learning rhythm, key signatures and dynamics.
Students will learn proper technique with their instrument to play well both in class and at home.
Kids will learn how to effectively practice at home and how to solve problems they face when no teacher is present.
Practice techniques are taught in class and used to work through the material in the sessions. Daily practice is essential to fully take advantage of course material.
They will learn to perform and play both individually and as a group, playing level .5 to level 1 orchestra music, and learning to sightread new music, how to face performance anxiety, and how to be self-sufficient in learning.
