G201: Intermediate Guitar: Theory and Application (Thurs 7-8p)

Continue to develop skills and learn songs on the guitar. This class will provide students with advanced learning to enjoy playing the guitar at the Intermediate/Advanced level. Class will cover how to play advanced chords and new strumming patterns with a focus on songs suggested by the students. The goal is to play a variety of complex guitar songs for the enjoyment of all. We will learn some instructor chosen songs, as well as student requests.

Prerequisites: An intermediate knowledge of playing the guitar is strongly recommended.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: This class focuses on teaching students who already know the basics of guitar, and want to continue their learning.
Requirements: Students entering this class should have taken a G101 class or be able to tune a guitar and play C, F, G, Am, Em chords while making an attempt to not look at their fingers to form the chords. Perfect playing is not required, it is the effort that matters. Must bring a guitar, paper and pencil.
Instructor: Colby Singleton
Instructor Bio: Colby was born and raised in small town Calhoun, Georgia and moved to Enumclaw in 2012. He is a self-taught musician with 23 years of musical experience and started playing at 10 years old. He enjoys teaching students and strongly believes positive reinforcement, support and motivation are key to learning, as well as having fun. Colby is also our Sales and Marketing manager at Enumclaw Music.

His lessons will give you the choice to learn chords, grasp rhythmic strumming, finger pickin, read guitar tabs, multiple scales (Major and Minor pentatonic, Diatonic, 12 Bar and Delta blues) and much more, to allow you to play your favorite songs or create your own.
