Group Classes at Enumclaw Music


Ages: Kids 8-17
In this class, kids will learn how to start playing the instrument of their choice, violin, viola, cello, or double bass. They will learn how to read music, the basics of music theory, rhythm, and articulation (how to move your bow). The kids will learn how to play confidently and well both as a group and individually, and how to perform together as well.

This class is for students new to guitar and provides basic knowledge needed to enjoy playing the guitar at a beginner level. The class starts by learning how to tune, hold, and strum a guitar, followed by learning basic chords. The goal for each session is to learn one or more new songs using the skills learned along the way.

This is a four-week introductory ukulele class for new ukulele players from the ages of 6-16. Parents are encouraged to participate alongside their child for free, learn the ukulele, and help their student at home. The goal is to play a variety of simple ukulele songs for the enjoyment of the kids and friends.

In this class we will be focusing on gaining more experience with more complex rhythms and harder melodies. We will also be focusing on self-sufficiency and the ability to recognize and fix students' own mistakes.

Prerequisites: An intermediate knowledge of playing the guitar is strongly recommended.

Prerequisites: Students entering this class should have taken a G101 class or should be able to tune a guitar and play C, F, G, Am, Em, A, D chords while making an attempt to not look at their fingers to form the chords. Perfect playing is not required. It is the effort that matters.

This first intermediate guitar class is designed for beginner students building upon their base skills by learning new chords, songs using new strumming patterns, and working on technique.
