Violin

We have two violin teachers at Enumclaw Music. Ruth Dirks, who teaches on Tuesday and Wednesday and Kaitlin Lohr, teaching on Wednesday.

Ruth Dirks

My name is Ruth Dirks, and I have been teaching private violin and piano lessons for 25 years. Music has always been an important part of my life. I studied violin, piano and enjoyed choir through later elementary years through high school. I continued violin, piano and choir in college, and also studied music theory and appreciation. I've played violin with the Rainier Symphony, local community performances, musicals, and violin or piano at teas, weddings, and other private functions. I also enjoy piano accompanying, and have accompanied many students and the elementary and middle school orchestras and choir. I've had a lot of experience working with school age children by teaching privately and volunteering to help with the string program at the Enumclaw schools. 

I live in Ravensdale with my husband and two school age daughters.

Kaitlin Lohr has been teaching private violin and piano lessons for the past 5 years and is also currently involved in teaching class violin and chorus at Cedar River Academy and orchestra at Thunder Mountain Middle School. Kaitlin has enjoyed continuing her own music studies since it’s beginnings in Elementary school and now holds a level 10 certification through the Royal Conservatory of Music and National Music Certificate Program. She is also an active member of the Puyallup Valley Chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers National Association and participates, as a community member, in the Pacific Lutheran University Symphony Orchestra.

Kaitlin is teaching violin at Enumclaw Music after school on Wednesdays.
